Bob Harris, CAE, is one of the most well respected national experts on association governance and transformation. He will present practical relevant information to make volunteer leaders more effective. Through the use of examples, tips, tools and templates, he'll share information and encourage input and questions. His sessions will be interactive - based on the core knowledge of nonprofit management and governance. Bob has more than 30 years experience in serving associations and chambers. His presentations will be geared toward elected leaders of not-for-profit organizations, with a focus on incoming leadership and the CEO/staff partnership. • Duties of Directors - Board's obligations as the governing body of the chamber of commerce.
• Governance role of the board versus the management role of the executive and staff.
• Protecting the Organization - Traps and risk management with case studies, including antitrust, insurance and audits
• Strategic Direction - Developing goals and a highly effective strategic plan
• Resources - New books on leadership and board of directors; templates and tools for use in your organization
