EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
KENTUCKY LEAGUE OF CITIES
The Kentucky League of Cities (KLC) Executive Board is seeking a business and results oriented leader to join the board in achieving their vision for the future of KLC.
The successful candidate for the next Executive Director of KLC should possess a demonstrated commitment to professionalism and a clear sense of integrity and commitment to the mission of KLC. Also required is experience working with national nonprofit organizations with at least 10 years in senior management and at least 10 years working in or with local government entities. The successful candidate for Executive Director of KLC should also possess a Juris Doctor, a Master of Public Administration, a Master of Business Administration or equivalent education and/or experience.
The Executive Director of the Kentucky League of Cities is appointed by and reports to the KLC Executive Board. The selected person for this key position serves as the KLC CEO and is responsible for long-term planning, administration and management of KLC operational activities, personnel and programs.
The Kentucky League of Cities (KLC) serves as the united voice of cities across the Commonwealth of Kentucky in supporting innovation, effective leadership and quality governance. KLC is a voluntary membership association representing more than 380 Kentucky cities. KLC is overseen by a 17-member Executive Board representing communities of all sizes and is recognized as one of the nation’s most innovative and successful municipal leagues.
The starting salary for the new Executive Director of the Kentucky League of Cities will be market competitive depending upon the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate. In addition, a competitive benefits package will be provided to the successful candidate. Reasonable relocation expenses will be paid by KLC for the successful candidate.

POSITION DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Chief Strategist The President is the chief executive at the KCEE, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, and will be responsible for developing and executing a strategic vision and growth plan for the KCEE, to include a funding strategy that will provide a solid financial base for current programs and a path for financial growth.
Curricula Development & Distribution Work to integrate economic education & personal finance into school curricula and targeted schools across the Commonwealth of Kentucky by enhancing teacher proficiency and providing various curricula on the subject matter. Ensure that KCEE's programs, products and services are delivered as designed and efficiently within the Board-approved budget. Increase our state-wide network which fosters program delivery throughout Kentucky.
Fund Raising & Awareness Direct the fundraising and business development of the organization. This includes identifying funding sources and potential givers, making personal asks for funding, establishing strategies to approach funders, balancing both restricted and unrestricted donations or grants, submitting proposals and administering fundraising records and documentation. Promote adult economic education and financial literacy programs to advance the visibility and mission of the organization.
Leadership Develop and maintain good working relationships with the staff, Board, business community, key members of the media, educators and policymakers. Build collaborative partnerships to strengthen and advance the KCEE mission. Maintain an active membership in the national Council for Economic Education. Serve as the chief spokesperson for the organization by representing KCEE in a responsible and professional way.
Management Manage and develop the KCEE staff, enabling them to deliver on the expectations established for them, i.e., managing a well balanced budget & budget process, developing new programs, writing proposals, managing daily responsibilities, etc.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Five years experience or in a senior management level of a non-profit organization, government unit or for-profit business. Candidate must have a proven record of success in fund development and leading an organization through transformational change and growth. Excellent verbal and written communications, interpersonal and presentation skills. Bachelors Degree or higher in education, public administration, business, entrepreneurship, economics or related field preferred.

COUNCIL: Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana - Headquarters in Louisville, a great place to live, work and play!
Serving girls in 54 counties in the western half of Kentucky and 10 counties in Southern Indiana north of the Louisville area.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Council’s Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer leads the Council to meet the needs of girls ages five to seventeen through collaboration with board and volunteers to deliver high quality programs and support systems. The Chief Executive Officer will actively promote Girl Scouting in the communities served by the Council. This position is to be filled by July 2010.
Operational responsibilities include communications and community relations; marketing; fund development; program delivery; membership and diversity enhancement; as well as strategic planning; financial management; and property management. The candidate must have sound judgment and decision-making skills; a strong background in managing an experienced staff, and value the relationship of volunteers who work in partnership with staff to accomplish the Council’s goals and objectives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a collaborative leadership style to bring a vibrant vision of contemporary Girl Scouting to the communities served.
BACKGROUND:
A minimum of 5 years' executive level experience is required. In addition, demonstrated competency is required across a broad range of managerial functions appropriate to an organization of comparable size, including communications, financial and human resources management, planning, fund development, board relations, marketing, property management and program delivery. The successful candidate will possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, with advanced education and training desired. Prior executive and managerial experience in Girl Scouting or other youth-serving organization where volunteers are key to success is highly desirable. Essential capabilities will include the passion, vision and integrity to sustain and build upon the Council’s prior history of success.
STATISTICS:
23,300+ girl and 6,500+ dedicated adult members. The Council's budget is currently $5.6 million. Council facilities include its headquarters and Metro Service Center (Louisville), 4 regional offices, two satellite offices, and 7 camps. Council staff is made up of 78 full-time plus part-time/seasonal employees, including out-based staff needed to meet the Council's program and membership goals.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR WANTED
Northern Kentucky Association of REALTORS® is seeking a seasoned Association Executive (AE) to help implement a strategy that addresses an evolving industry and the public policy environment in which it operates for an association of approximately a 1000 members. This highly visible AE will work with an energized volunteer membership and lead the staff to enhance the public's perception of the industry.
The successful candidate must have proven Association experience, demonstrated leadership abilities, strong management skills, and political acumen. S/he must be an energetic strategic thinker, leader, administrator, manager and communicator. Personal characteristics such as vision, excellent judgment, high integrity, principled decision-making and a commitment to teamwork are necessary. Must have strong business skills, at least 5 years of experience and education in association management, or an equivalent discipline necessary. Bachelors Degree preferred. REALTOR® association Certified Executive (RCE) and/or Certified Association Executive (CAE) designations preferred.
